Introduction to our work and why we work within Erasmus+
At MOAVE, we see youth work as something deeply human. It is about creating spaces where young people and youth workers can slow down, connect, and learn through real experiences, not only through information or methods. Our previous projects have grown from this understanding – that learning happens in relationships, in groups, and in moments of reflection, change, and sometimes discomfort.
In our work, we have focused on non-formal education, inclusion, intercultural learning, mental well-being, and self-awareness. What is important for us is not only what we do, but how we do it, with attention to the group, to emotional safety, and to what is happening on a deeper level in people. We regularly include reflection, simple somatic awareness, and group processes that support participants to notice both their inner and outer experiences.
We are aware that both young people and youth workers come into projects with their own stories, pressures, and lived realities. International youth work can bring growth, but also challenge, emotional movement, and moments of discomfort. We see this as part of the learning process and try to hold it in a grounded and supportive way.
We work within the Erasmus+ framework because it allows us to connect local realities with European cooperation, while keeping the focus on meaningful learning processes. It gives space not only for the development of young people, but also for the professional and personal growth of youth workers, which we see as essential for quality youth work.
For us, Erasmus+ is also a space for long-term development of practice. It supports reflection, exchange between organisations, and the continuous improvement of how we work with groups and individuals. In this way, it becomes a framework for both youth empowerment and youth worker development, grounded in real experience and shared learning.
